He built a reputation for being musically gifted, beat boxing for MC’s, free styling on the open-mic circuit or just performing acapela for strangers on the streets. ![]() See More Your browser does not support the audio element. Musiq Soulchild is a hip-hop soul artist, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For anyone who can't get enough of Johnson's light grooves and graceful hooks, teasing out the gems should be worth the effort. And you're my angel (oh yeah) And I just wish that the world could witness. In the intro to "The Moon," which really should be the finale, Neil deGrasse Tyson is so into dropping science that he sounds like he's about to break from script and launch into "You Are My Starship." These songs and a few others add up to 40 minutes of standouts amid a greater amount of uniformly adequate - never poor - material. Cause in you're eyes, I can see the skies and all the heavens. He directly addresses a lover - potential, long-term, departing - convincing her to take it to the next level on the gliding "Benefits" (like a more aggressive "Just Friends"), pressing reset on the early-'70s throwback "Start Over," and praising her generosity on "Fact of Love." Marsha Ambrosius contributes the opening title song, a coasting/bobbing highlight. Johnson's lyrical approach is likewise focused. A couple booming trap-styled diversions and a flashy band-oriented section in "Sooner or Later" aside, Feel the Real isn't particularly indulgent, tending to stay in the Musiq Soulchild comfort zone. Though that might seem like more stitch-work than what's displayed on the cover, Feel the Real is uncommonly steady for a double album, consisting mostly of midtempo hip-hop soul productions with Johnson's dependably easygoing yet heartfelt vocal technique. This combines fresh material created following the 2016 release with a touched-up backlog of tracks written during the previous few years. Increased song quantity and credits length aren't the only details that differentiate Feel the Real from the preceding album. ![]() Just a year and a half after Taalib Johnson released the Warryn Campbell collaboration Life on Earth, he delivered 24 songs - nearly 100 minutes' worth of material - this time recorded with almost a dozen mostly new production associates. ![]() It feel good, it feel so damn good, it feel. Talib Kweli with Musiq Soulchild harmonising throughout Yo, yo. I'm just trying to express my lyrical flow. But on November 14th of 2000, he would introduce himself to the world as Musiq Soulchild with the release of his debut album Aijuswanaseing. A timeless masterpiece, I ain't the least. More like hard to be packaged, thats the biggest record company's "no no" these days.Purchase and download this album in a wide variety of formats depending on your needs. In the late 90s, a young man named Taalib Johnson was known for singing on the corners downtown in his hometown of Philadelphia. He seems to be gettin dropped by the label alot.any reasons why?.Bad Material?.his drug problems?.whatever it is,I hope he can do better on this indie label He recently signed to Plug Research and went to the indie route, he still performing very often and his new album is set to be released on febuary. After 2004, he kept working with everybody in the industry (from Glasper to Jay-Z) and doing gigs everywhere in the US & Europe, he even worked with B-Cox in order to make more accessible music, but then again his label dropped him. His label didn't want to release that CD and he got fucked up. He came out with Love For Sale in 2004 wich for me was great for what it was (demo material). I don't think he is lazy, he just didn't have a deal, that's why he didn't release anything. Bilal all day, he's more creative and funnier than Musiq. ![]()
